Indiana Grand Racing & Casino is now accepting a cappella auditions for season two of the Grand Voice, a singing competition with a grand prize of $5,000 and an opportunity to perform live at Indiana Grand. Video submissions and registration must be received by Friday, April 6. The grand finale will take place on Friday, May 18.
Singers may audition by submitting a live a cappella video from a smart phone or camera and uploading it to The Grand Voice Facebook page from Indiana Grand Racing & Casino’s Facebook link. Videos must include a verse and chorus, and be no more than 90 seconds in length. Video submissions must be accompanied with the official registration form found on Indiana Grand’s website at www.indianagrand.com. All videos must be solo performances and participants are required to be 21 years or older with a valid I.D.
Audition videos and registration forms must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 6. Selected contestants will compete in the preliminaries on Friday, April 20, April 27, or May 4. The top three contestants in each round will win $100 in casino cash and advance to the semi-finals on Friday, May 11.
Indiana Grand Racing & Casino launched their 2018 Shelby County United Fund for You (SCUFFY) fundraising campaign this month. The charitable drive includes a Give $10 Get $10 casino promotion through March 31 and a SCUFFY game show fundraiser on Sunday, April 8.
SCUFFY helps improve the quality of life in Shelby County by donating funds to thirteen area organizations to benefit youth, seniors, and families in need. In 2017, Indiana Grand raised $45,363 for SCUFFY.
During Indiana Grand’s Give $10, Get $10 event, guests over the age of 21 who make a contribution of $10 or more to SCUFFY will receive $10 in free slot play as a thank you for their contribution. The promotion continues through March 31.
Indiana Grand is also presenting a special SCUFFY game show fundraiser on Sunday, April 8 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Indiana Grand team members will have the opportunity to compete in “Battle of the Grand” and “The Cost is Kosher,” games similar to the popular TV shows Family Feud and The Price is Right.
Indiana Grand Racing & Casino will host two job fair sessions to introduce employment opportunities for the upcoming 2018 racing season, which begins on Tuesday, April 17. The first session, focused on seasonal racing-related job openings, is set for Saturday, March 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A general session, including job postings for casino and racing departments, is set for Monday, March 19 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Departments hiring seasonal team members include Food & Beverage, Mutuels, Trackside Maintenance, Equine EVS, Trackside Labor, and Trackside Security. Numerous positions are available for the 16th racing season of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing.
Both job fair sessions will provide applicants the opportunity to meet with Indiana Grand personnel to discuss potential job opportunities. Representatives from many of the departments will be on hand to explain specific job duties and responsibilities.
