CB Come Fly With Me tops list of qualifiers for QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Futurity Final

A total of 47 two-year-olds over five trials attempted to qualify for the upcoming $100,000 QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Futurity set for Saturday, Aug. 27. Although Trainer Randy Smith dominated the trials, winning four of the five events, it was CB Come Fly With Me and Rolando Pina that earned the fastest time to advance to the final.

Starting from post seven in the 10-horse field, it was a clean loading process and a clean break from the gate for everyone. CB Come Fly With Me made his presence known early, leading the pack through the sloppy track conditions nearly gate to wire for the win, posting a time of :17.570 seconds for the win. His dominance was well-documented, defeating the second place finisher, Tres Seis Delight and Cesar Esqueda, by two and one-half lengths at the finish line. Jess Jace and Berkley Packer brought home another qualifier for Smith.

CB Come Fly With Me just missed the win in his last start in the $131,000 Jaguar Rocket Futurity. The freshman daughter of Desirio is now two for four in her brief career for owner-breeder Carolyn Bruce.

CB Come Fly With Me paid $5.00, $4.20, $2.80 across the board as the race favorite. She is trained by Joe Davis, who has had an exceptional year at Indiana Grand in 2016 and currently ranked third in the standings with 15 wins.

Other trial winners for the QHRAI SSA Futurity included WRs Whoseyourdaddy, Dnachrystalsfighter, Beach Zoomer, and DNA Dales Prospect, all trained by Indiana Grand’s leading trainer Randy Smith. All of the trial winners were ridden to victory by Berkley Packer with the exception of Beach Zoomer, who was ridden by Juan Galvan. Packer, who came into the evening in third place on the leading jockey roster, won five of the nine races to catapult himself into the top spot as the leading Quarter Horse jockey with 19 wins thus far. Rolando Pina had two wins on the evening to maintain his second place status on the leader board with 17 wins. Trainer Randy Smith earned seven wins, a new track record for most wins recorded in one night by a trainer of any breed at Indiana Grand.

Qualifiers for the QHRAI SSA Futurity include the following horses, with jockey and time: CB Come Fly With Me (Rolando Pina, :17.570); Wrs Whoseyourdaddy (Berkley Packer, :17.962); Tres Seis Delight (Cesar Esqueda, :17.995); First Cucuy (Jose Davila, :18.029); Beach Zoomer (Juan Galvan, :18.058); Zoomin B Cartel (Berkley Packer, :18.128); HH Kentucky Krome (Harold Collins, :18.150); Jess Jace (Berkley Packer, :18.166); Dnachrystalsfighter (Berkley Packer, :18.189); and Cartels Justice Shanley Jackson, :18.212).
