Daddys Moe, Nachito Coronel favored in Futurities
Daddys Moe and Nachito Coronel have been tagged as the favorites in their respective Futurities Saturday, June 14. Daddys Moe leads a field of 10 vying for the title of the $129,600 Jaguar Rocket Futurity while Nachito Coronel is the heavy favorite in the $181,900 Gordon Mobley Futurity. Owned by breeder Rose Bode, Daddys Moe was an impressive winner in his trial for the 16th running of the Jaguar Rocket Futurity Final during the first of six all Quarter Horse racing nights Saturday, June 2. The two-year-old son of Carters Cartel rolled out to the lead from the start and never looked back, scoring the victory in the fastest time of :15.500 seconds for the 300-yard dash. The gelding returns for the final as the 6-5 favorite from post 10 and will be ridden once again by Jose Beltran, the track’s leading Quarter Horse jockey.
Daddys Moe will be one of two saddled by Indiana Grand’s all-time leading Quarter Horse Trainer Randy Smith for the Jaguar Rocket Futurity Final. Smith also has Coronados Quiksilver, who is the second choice of the field and begins from post nine at odds of 5-2 with James Flores aboard. Rarely A Tres, who finished a neck behind Daddys Moe in the trials, is the third choice on the morning line at odds of 8-1 for trainer Anthony Cunningham.

Nachito Coronel comes into the race off two wins at Indiana Grand, including one of the Mobley trials with the fastest time of :15.497 seconds. The sorrel Habits Secret gelding, owned by Patricia Del Rocio Lopez, took over just a few strides into his 300-yard dash and easily slid under the wire as the winner by one and three-quarter lengths. Trained by Ricardo Martinez, Nachito Coronel will be looking for his third straight win from post eight at odds of 4-5. Sergio Ramirez, who had not ridden at a recognized track for more than four years prior to riding June 1 at Indiana Grand and now is three for four at Indiana Grand, is back aboard Nachito Coronel.
Joining Nachito Coronel as a major contender in the Mobley Futurity Final is Stoneburner, also a trial winner June 2. The Brimmstone gelding, owned by Gerald Keesling, powered home to the trial win in a time of :15.527 seconds.
