Denis Blake to appear at Indiana Grand
The Wrangler Racing Aces will be on the move Saturday, July 9 with fan education appearances set at three racetracks in Indiana, Louisiana and Colorado. Wrangler Racing Ace Denis Blake will be on hand for racing and family friendly festivities when Indiana Grand hosts their second all-Quarter Horse racing night of 2016, Saturday, July 9. The evening will be dedicated to the sprinters and include some stakes action to showcase the Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana (QHRAI) and the growth of their organization.
The evening will include the final of the Indiana Grand QHRAI Derby, the evening will include the final of the $40,000 Bradford Stakes and trials for the Heartland Futurity and the Blue River Derby, with the finals of those two races set for Saturday, July 30. Blake will join Indiana Grand’s on-air racing analyst Rachel McLaughlin on the “Wire to Wire” preview show and provide additional handicapping tips throughout the night.
In addition, Blake will greet fans trackside with handicapping tips on Quarter Horse racing. He will offer free $2 racing vouchers, courtesy of QHRAI, while supplies last. The evening will also include face painting, a bounce house, a strolling magician and a strolling stilt walker, airbrush tattoos and performances by the Circle City Cloggers when racing gets underway at 6:05 p.m. EST.
Due to a postponement of the track’s fireworks show from July 3 because of heavy rainfall, Quarter Horse Stakes Night will get a boost in activities Saturday, July 9. The Jai Baker Band will perform beginning at 8 p.m. and shortly after the last race, a fireworks show will take place featuring a 25-minute show choreographed to music.
It’s a big weekend for Quarter Horse racing across the United States. In addition to Blake’s appearance at Indiana Grand, Martha Claussen will represent the Wrangler Q-Racing Aces at Delta Downs in Louisiana for several stakes, including the $690,295 Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) and Jennifer Hancock will be providing support for the Aces at Arapahoe Park in Denver, Colorado for several stakes races on their card.
